You cannot automatically uninstall Autodesk MapGuide Viewer, Java Edition (Unless you the are using Autodesk MapGuide Viewer, Java Edition with Java Plugin. Use one of the following manual procedures, depending on your platform: Microsoft Internet Explorer on Windows 2000 Professional/XP Professional: In the \\Windows or \\WinNT folder, depending on your operating system, open the subfolder \\Downloaded Program Files. Right-click Autodesk MapGuide Viewer Java Edition, and then choose Remove from the shortcut menu. Netscape Communicator for Solaris: Remove $home/.netscape/java/download/mgjava.jar. If you installed the Autodesk MapGuide Viewer Java Edition that is to be used with Java Plug-in use one of the following procedures, depending on your platform: Windows 2000 Professional/XP Professional: Go to Control Panel\\ Add/Remove Programs. Select Autodesk MapGuide Viewer Java Edition and click on its remove button. Safari for MacOS X version 10.4.x: Click on the link \"Safari with Java Plug-In for Mac OS X\" in this web page. Choose \"Uninstall\" from the applet installer. OR Open the folder: [Your User Home directory] > Library > Java > Extensions. Drag the mgjava.jar file to the trash. You might also want to remove the files that contain your bookmarks and preferences. These files are contained in a folder called autodesk\\mapguide\\old_version (where old_version is the version number of the old release, such as 6.3). To remove these files, search for the autodesk\\mapguide\\old_version folder (for example, use the Find command in Windows Explorer), and then remove the entire \\old_version folder.
MATLAB is a programming platform used to analyze data, develop algorithms, and create models and applications. RIT has a licensing agreement with MathWorks to provide faculty, staff and students with access to many products in the MATLAB suite. The software is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux. RIT's contract covers a selection of Standard and Additional Toolboxes.
Several departments are sharing a campus license for Minitab and Minitab Express to be used on RIT-owned computers. Minitab is a Windows-only application where as Minitab Express is available for Windows and Mac. To get Minitab or Minitab Express for your RIT Owned computer, please contact your Systems Administrator. Minitab and Minitab Express are also available for use by all current students and faculty on their personal computer for academic purposes. ITS maintains an annual academic subscription site license for SAS for Windows. SAS brings you a complete suite of products for data access, data management, data analysis and data presentation. The license provides the opportunity for RIT faculty, staff and registered students to subscribe to a suite of SAS products. Go to the SAS page for more information.
VMware is a virtualization and cloud computing software provider. Under certain circumstances, faculty and students may obtain this software free of charge under the VMware Academic Program. Staff using VMware products to support the infrastructure of the University must purchase licenses.
Download and install available software titles to your personal computer through the Cal Poly Software Hub. These software titles are available to students, staff, and faculty for teaching and learning.
ESRI ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap 10.x desktop GIS software are available for students, staff, and faculty to install on their own personal computers for academic use. This includes the ArcGIS Advanced license, with extensions such as 3D Analyst, Spatial Analyst, and others. Note: ArcGIS requires the Windows operating system. Adobe Creative Cloud is required by all students in the graphic design and media arts program. Creative Cloud licenses are available at an educational discount directly through Adobe.

We recommend that you bring your laptop to class the first week. Your instructors will discuss the use of laptops within your classes. In general, avoid distracting other students by turning off instant messaging, email, games and other unnecessary applications before class begins.
Office 365 is available free of charge to all SNHU students and faculty. The Office suite will remain free while you are a student at SNHU. Upon graduation, you may convert to a paid subscription if you wish. Terms subject to change at Microsoft's discretion.
Antivirus software is required for on campus students and will be provided if needed. Antivirus is strongly recommended for everyone. Check with your ISP as it may offer antivirus software free of charge to subscribers.
While PC (Windows OS) or Apple (Mac OS) laptops are recommended to provide optimal experiences for SNHU students, we recognize that students may benefit from having more affordable computer options available.
The vast majority of students purchase PC laptops rather than Mac PowerBooks. One reason is that Autodesk suite products are not fully supported natively on the Mac platform. In addition, various plugins for Rhino3D are only available on the Windows platform.
The Student Engineering & Design Community has established Autodesk as a FREE website for students in engineering, architecture, design and animation. Students are able to download free student editions of Autodesk 3D design software, discuss projects, share work, and learn from the experts.

Students must keep the original receipt of purchase of all software. All instructors of course work that use computing media may require students using machines and software not in School computer clusters to provide a copy of the purchase receipt(s) of the relevant application(s). The School requires this to avoid software copyright violations.
