A connector is used to connect a flat cable to a circuit board. For example, a connector disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Application Publication No. 2011-55850 is known as a connector to be used for the above purpose. This connector includes a housing and a fitting portion. The housing is formed with a fitting cavity. The fitting portion is formed with a fitting hole and a through hole. The fitting hole is provided so as to extend through the housing from one end to the other end. The through hole is formed so as to be open to the fitting cavity. When the fitting hole of the fitting portion is fitted with the fitting cavity, the housing and the fitting portion are coupled to each other. A flat cable can be connected to the fitting portion. The housing is formed with a plurality of terminal fittings on the end face of the housing. One of the terminal fittings is arranged on the one end face of the housing. On the other end face of the housing, a plurality of terminal fittings are arranged at positions corresponding to the through hole. Each terminal fitting of the housing has a contact portion to be inserted into the through hole. A contact portion of the fitting portion is inserted into the through hole of the housing.

When the terminal fitting of the housing is fitted with the through hole of the housing, the housing and the fitting portion are coupled to each other and the contact portions of the terminal fittings are connected to each other.
