When I plug in my headphones to the analog port on the side, I get audio from both my computer speakers and the headphones that I just plugged in. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the most up to date Realtek HD audio manager (which also came preinstalled when I bought it years ago with no problems at all) from Realtek. When I open the Realtek HD audio manager, I open in a speakers tab (no other tab), with a greyed out analog section on the right and no advanced settings option. I have the latest Windows 10 update. I am using Realtek High Definition Audio driver version 6.0.1.7564.
@salmonjapan So I have tried to install IDT from toshiba's website (also uninstalling realtek) but realtek keeps reinstalling itself and replacing everything I try to put in its place (mainly just a generic HD audio driver given when you select update and browse my computer for drivers )
If you are trying to update to the Windows 10 November 2019 Update (Windows 10, version 1909), the Windows 10 May 2019 Feature Update (Windows 10, version 1903), or the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (Windows 10, version 1809), you may encounter an update compatibility hold and receive the message, "Realtek Bluetooth: Your PC has a driver or service that isn't ready for this version of windows 10. A new version is avialable."
You can download Realtek audio drivers from Realtek. To get them, you need to go to the Realtek website, find the drivers corresponding with the sound card model and your specific flavor of Windows 10 (32 or 64 bit) and download the driver manually.
You can find them by visiting the support section of your PC or tablet manufacturer's website. Every manufacturer's computer or tablet model is custom-tuned to deliver an optimized audio experience for the device. Please contact your device manufacturer to download the audio driver for your particular model.
Unfortunately, installing an incompatible device driver for your audio device that isn't rejected by the OS (the OS thinks it's an appropriate driver despite that it isn't), might still not give you the proper indication which device for audio you actually have. Also hardware info software might not help either, because they might use the OS reported devices, instead of actually looking through ACPI/BIOS. 2b1af7f3a8
